Kristin Davey is the founder of Peaceful Planet Yoga - the ONLY yoga business in the Hamptons dedicated entirely to children.  Kristin is mom to 3 active and inspiring children.  She has her Masters Degree in Elementary Education and was a pre-school teacher for over 10 years.  After a difficult pregnancy, Kristin discovered the many benefits of yoga in 2003.  Kristin's passion and interest in developing her own, Anusara influenced yoga practice, has been growing ever since.  Her desire to share yoga with young children led Kristin to become a certified kids yoga teacher in 2009 through Karma Kids Yoga in NYC.  She holds additional kids yoga teacher certifications through Child Light Yoga and Little Flower Yoga.  In 2016 she completed  9 hours of Master Class Training through the National Kids Yoga Foundation and in 2017, she completed Yoga for Test Prep - Tools for Getting Students through Testing.
Kristin offers year round kids & teens yoga programming in the Hamptons and Essential Oil Gatherings & Workshops for women in the Hamptons, Southern, VT & Virtually via ZOOM!

Peaceful Planet Yoga was founded in October of 2009 under the direction of Kristin Davey.   Kristin is honored to have attended a variety of classes & workshops with phenomenal teachers including Elena Brower, Sean Corne, Rod Stryker, Gabrielle Bernstein, MC Yogi, Jillian Pransky, Colleen Saidman Yee, Rodney Yee and Dr. Melody Moore.

In the fall of 2018, Kristin was certified in Restorative Yoga at Kripalu.  In the summer of 2019 Kristin completed Yoga for Parkinson's Disease teacher training & currently volunteers with the Rock Steady Boxing & Ping Pong for Parkinson's programs. Kristin is also a certified Level I/II Restorative Yoga teacher offering essential oil workshops and retreats for women.  Each workshop centers around an oily them and  includes breath~work, guided meditations and an oily DIY's.  Retreats are offered in Southern Vermont at a spacious mountain home and include aromatherapy treatments, private meditation room, indoor spa, an oil infused sauna, breath~work, rustic vegetarian fare, restorative yoga, essential oil workshops and creative projects for manifesting abundance.

She has taught after school yoga enrichment programs at Springs School, John Marshall Elementary School and the Hayground School.  She facilitates a pre-school yoga enrichment program throughout the school year at the Country School in Wainscott.  Kristin was invited to host several series at both the Wainscott Public School and the Sagaponack Common School to share the many benefits of yoga and meditation with students as part of their PE program.  She has helped many local Daisy, Brownie and Girl Scout Troops earn badges relating to health, wellness and yoga!  Kristin has also run several yoga movement classes for toddlers at both the Amagansett and Hampton Public Libraries and her local childrens' museum.

Kristin believes a child's yoga experience should be FUN, SILLY, and ENGAGING!  Kristin encourages a love of yoga through playful yoga style games, lots of music, trust building exercises, partner yoga poses, strength building poses, and simple meditations.  In all of her classes, children will be encouraged to use their imaginations through creative and unique yoga style games. Yoga games  incorporate listening skills, co-operation, co-ordination and team building - essential skills for success in school & life. Children are introduced to counting in Sanskrit, and Sanskrit vocabulary. Playful props such as scarves, pom-poms, yoga blocks, pinwheels, and bells are incorporated in Kristin's classes to engage children to explore yoga poses in fun and challenging ways.  All classes end with mindful moments, simple meditations, breath-work, magic mist, sparkles and guided visualizations to help children experience wellness, success, happiness and a sense of peace.


Peaceful Planet Yoga incorporates fun, playful, and creative ways for children to exercise and explore their mind, body, and spirit as well as learn about yoga.  The use of animated poses and stretches promotes strength, flexibility, concentration, coordination and balance.  Breathing and visualization techniques help teach children to focus, relax and develop self-control.  It is important to provide a safe, positive and non-competitive environment for children to discover the joys and benefits of a yoga practice.  So that children may develop a life-long love of yoga, it is essential for kid’s yoga to be FUN!

In our children’s yoga classes, we use music and games to play/practice fun and challenging yoga poses.  Without realizing it, children are learning techniques to help their bodies become healthier and stronger and their minds to become more focused and relaxed.  Children learn through imitation, repetitive movement and song.  Young children will not always be in proper position in a yoga pose, which is completely acceptable.

The physical movements introduce children to yoga's true meaning: the union of body, mind & spirit.  Yoga is a discipline that can lead children on the path toward a calm and balanced mind, as well as help them to build a strong and flexible body, which will help them grow into mindful members of our Peaceful Planet.
